Hopefully we will see some glass coming up for Pentax during photokina.
Seems that Sigma has forgotten us... no new ART for the K-mount.
Lately all new glas is a Sony-E or so.

Anyone with some news and information for our Pentaxmount?

The three lenses Sigma will announce tonight at 7pm CEST (1pm EST), the 12-24mm f/4 DG HSM Art, 85mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art and 500mm f/4 DG OS HSM Sports, are DSLR lenses but only available in Canon EF, Nikon F and Sigma SA mounts.

Big news from Sony and even bigger news from Fuji. The K-1 and 645Z will have some tough compitition.

I cannot really understand why sigma seems to abandon Pentax. ITs the first FF model and ricoh has not the fast primes ready (yet)... why should/would sigma not harvest all those pentax ff shooters with their art lineup!? don't understand this...

Pentax K-1 is this year around 3 % of the full frame market. So making some batches of their lenses could make sales, but also would bring a financial risk on inventory and production. Now with KAF-4 it is easier, but they probably only know of that mount recently.

I have never seen a Sigma brand camera . I know they exist, have seen both ads and tests of them (Pop. Photography magazine) but so far, have not seen one. Have seen new and newer Nikon, Canon, Sony Fuji, Leica, Pentax, Panasonic, Olympus, etc...but not Sigma.

I understand why Sigma markets their lenses to fit Sigma cameras...no problem understanding that...but have yet to see a Sigma body in the wild.

I have a Sigma lens...150-500..good lens, very happy with it. They do make good stuff.

I think people forget what a small player Pentax is. Go to B&H and browse DSLRs, sort by best sellers. It takes a long time to find a Pentax in those pages.

Should have plenty of booth photos tomorrow. At the moment Pentax hasn't put out any announcements or press materials, though there's plenty from other brands- stay tuned for a roundup!

Biggest news for me is new is the new Olympus OM-D EM-1 Mark II
Based on specs, that is a f*cking monster.
121 cross type af points and up to 60fps full size 20mp raw

If the buffer is large enough it will leave Canikon top models in the dust.
EVF is also crazy with 120fps and 6ms response.
Thanks god that is not a Ricoh competitor.
