Here some of my findings on Photokina (all pure personal opinion):
(I translated my own German text via Google, so forgive me)
Samyang 20mm F1.8 (tested on Canon 22MPx):
All ok, but now no wide open pop. The field of application is unclear to me.
Laowa 105mm F2 STF (tested on Canon 22MPx):
really sharp already open, nice bokeh. Fine lens, but I would still prefer the reference class Samyang 135mm F2.
Laowa 12mm F2.8: (tested on Canon 22MPx):
For the angle of very good performance, very surprisingly compact. Filter holder with both Spin and removable filter is made clever. Are you asking for self-extracting slim Polarizer rausbringen last year. With a B + W 95mm screw Polarizer minimal vignettes in the extreme corners. I love 12mm with threaded filter. I am full of anticipation of the end of October, when they deliver.
Irix 15mm F2.4: (tested on K-1)
Great power, really sophisticated features. Would the Samyang 14mm F2.8 prefer (old).
Irix 11m F4: (tested on Canon 22MPx): Prototype
Performance looks good, but a tad behind the Laowa also include smart features.
Amazingly, bulkier than the F2.8 Laowa and without front-filtering solution.
They said they are working on their own filters.
They say to the delays at 15mm nothing about when the thing is to come. "Sometime in 2017".
Metz WT-1:
Probably the longtime dream of all Pentax-speed camera. Remote control via radio in groups and with many flashes. With PTTL-HSS. With display. With sync socket on the receiver. 170 EUR fair for a starter. Come for Pentax in 2017th
Target combined Metz and Pentax can control lightning.
M.E. the high-end release for other solutions.
Godox Witstro AD360II:
They have said that they need to produce this model next year defitiniv for Pentax P-TTL. This is the time to LZ 80 at 28mm ISO 100 strongest Aufsteckblitz. And the model II is a full TTL flash (which I had been a manual flash). Expensive, but good.
Sigma 85mm F1.4 type: prototype (tested on 22MPx Canon)
It was not allowed to take any pictures on SDCard. Minimal better than the old, but again considerably bulkier.
I think the DFA 24-70 / 2.8 is more manageable. Not sexy.
Sigma 12-24mm Type: prototype (tested on 22MPx Canon)
It was not allowed to take any pictures on SDcard. Looked okay, but no better than the Irixe and Laowas. Even with filter problem. Expensive. And of course bulkier than the more intense FB.
Pentax K-1 Firmware 1.30 (they have some K-1's with it):
Yes, the square-Crop is funny. Image sizes is 4912x4912 pixels if somebody cares.
And yes, they have an electronic first curtain (not both; the second curtain does still shut physically) implemented well. The thing is really, really quiet in LV.
Tamron 150-600 II (tested on 22MPx Canon):
Image quality on par with Sigma C (which is a tad better than the S). Image stabilisation leagues better than both Sigmas. Autofocus similar. Annoyingly Tamron sucks again at metadata. The lens re-uses the lens ID of the Canon 100-400mm II lens and appears as such in the metadata and to the camera.
Fun aside:
I shot some with the Sigma 200-500mm F2.8. I do not remember a Pentax optics, which has a slower autofocus, when the thing. As a rich engine seems slowest to move the extra heavy lenses. Is about as schnarchig like the Canon USM in 85mm L.
