Talked with Pentax,couple of minutes ago,they are in action to fix the problems with some Android mobiles.
I reported the problems with the start and freeze of the app and the lost of connection with some devices.
The problem is the very extensive deviation to the standard Android.
HTC,Sony,Samsung and LG are using very company specialised Android versions.
I will report if I get more and new information about the image sync problems.

I hope they address it soon as Pentax wifi implementation sucks. One of the local customer rep boasted about this feature only to find out during actual connection demo failed.😅

Hey Asahi Man, I'm having problems with a Motorola G (2015), which has a fairly standard Android implementation. (6.0)

I'm not sure how that rolls into the equation...

Is there any chance a new implementation of the app will be able to rotate in landscape position? It would be invaluable for workshop sessions in the field...

Update for iOS is out! The only thing in the notes is iOS10 support. Let's hope everything else mentioned in this thread is there too. Will test it out as soon as I get a chance.

I found that the new update is a huge improvement on my Nexus 6 running Android 7 (PureNexus version) - the previous version was a nightmare, requiring a juggling of manually connecting to the K-1's wifi through Android's wifi page and restarting the app over and over until it would finally connect, often after minutes of fiddling. The new version has properly and automatically connected to the K-1's wifi when launched every time I've tried it - admittedly only three times or so. Unfortunately it was updated just after my recent vacation, when I was using the wifi feature regularly.

Regardless, it's definitely an improvement and is behaving like my EyeFi Mobi USED to back on Android 4 and maybe 5 (it stopped working well, too; then the card itself seems to have lost all wifi capability recently! But that's another story.)

Still today no news.

I have massive problems with my LG 3 android, certainly not a very user friendly setup

It's pretty easy. I did it on my S6 Galaxy.

Your particular handset may have customizations to Android that make it currently incompatible ... Motorola was suffering from that.

One thing to watch for is that the phone is not connecting to either your home wifi network or your phone carrier's data network.

Switch that off if you notice by the icons that is happening. You must connect only to the wifi dongle that your camera has become.

Your phone might be one that connects to the camera, decides that it cannot access the Internet by it, and reverts back to a more familiar network when you're not looking.

I'm not connected to any networks, and my LG G4 simply hangs on the Image Sync splash screen. Tried uninstalling and re-installing Image Sync. Nothing to be done but wait for another update.

I asked last Friday,but nothing new.

New update is out and now it's running on my device
That was fast and quick....only a couple of month.....
