Good story line, you don't want to put it down. No glitches either. The hidden object games give you a choice of finding the hidden objects or doing the match (3) game. I like the choice. It's not too long or boring either just right. Great scenery the only com is for some of the mini games the instructions are not very clear. Most I skipped. Otherwise I enjoyed the game.

UPDATE!
In my original review, I mention near the end that Collectibles and Souvenirs cannot be viewed until the bonus chapter is finished. I usually don't review games until I'm completely done, but in this case, while I'd started the bonus chapter, I hadn't finished it yet. I certainly didn't expect anything about it to change my original rating.

But it did, and now I'm giving the game four stars, instead of three. Not for the bonus chapter itself (which was pretty short, but good), but for what you get to do when it's over, which is go back and find the collectibles and souvenirs you missed! YAY! A little clarification: When I said they don't let you look at them (Collectibles and Souvenirs) until after the bonus chapter, the fact is, I didn't even know what they were talking about, with regard to souvenirs. The collectibles didn't really need to be looked at, because they were all the same, and there IS a way to see how many you've found so far. So that was okay. The souvenirs are a little different, in that they're things you run across while playing the game in the first place. They're only there once you're done, at which time the game will take you back to each location that contains a souvenir so you can find it. Kinda like a post-game treasure hunt. I've never seen something like that in games like these, and am not sure how I feel about it. On one hand, many were very well hidden (as were many of the collectibles, of which I'd missed 10 out of 44) and it would have been unlikely they'd have been found, without long pauses in gameplay to do a lot of random clicking for clues. That would have been bothersome indeed! On the other hand, saving souvenirs for a mini-game feels like an afterthought, and many players may not want to bother with an extra mini game once they're done with the main game and bonus chapter.

I think what I'd like to see is this: Yes, give us collectibles and/or souvenirs to find in-game, and go ahead and make some of them hard to find, BUT let us know in the beginning that they're often hidden outright, so we'll know, and do continue giving us the chance to go back and find what we missed later. It was really cool to be able to do that in this game, and I'd like to see that feature in all others! Especially in those that have an Achievement of Get All Achievements, or a puzzle you can only complete if you do, in fact, get all the achievements. (I'm looking at you, MariaGlorum Mystery of the Ancients games!)

(Original Review)
I gave Mutiny of the Heart only three stars, and the same goes for Burning Coast. (I skipped Nemesis altogether, due to unfavorable reviews.) As before, the bones of the game - voice-acting, facial animations, graphics, overall length, interesting layered h.o. scenes - are quite good. And the bonus chapter in this one is a real bonus chapter (meaning it's a side story or follow-up to the main story rather than being the wrap-up for the main story), unlike the faux bonus chapter in M.o.t.H, without which the main story would not have been wrapped up.

However, other than having a genuine bonus chapter this time, I still found myself either bored or frustrated way too much by this game. Too many moments of wondering why I'm picking up this object, or what I'm supposed to be doing next. Also, though one is used to locations of objects not being terribly sensible in this type of game, this one takes it to far, and had my eyes rolling. A bottle of milk behind a cushion at the foot of a bed? Why? (A relatively mild example, and while I can't remember other examples, I know there were a few that were much less logical than that!) Things just do not unfold logically or intuitively in this game. The boredom was so bad, I stopped the game, at one point, and it took several weeks for me to care enough to finish.

Mechanically, the controls are a bit fiddly. Tapping has to be too precise in order to get things to work as you intend, and more than once, I found myself side-railed, searching for a solution, only to have something I'd already tried but failed at end up being the right answer all along. Just didn't tap quite right the first time. That's irritating. Also, h.o. scenes have an annoying TOK sound for mis-taps which would be fine, if it didn't also sound every time you move the screen while zoomed in. No, I'm not mis-tapping, stop telling me I am! Ugh.

Regarding the mini-games, most of them are head-scratchers, and not in a good way. I like challenge, but intensely dislike being frustrated by non-intuitive games with instructions that don't explain well what you're being asked to do. Near the end, there were two games that I'm pretty sure were actually non-functional, making me wonder if the game was rushed out too soon.

Again, so much promise; so many annoyances. It's a shame, because parts of the game are so good. And you know the devolpers had to have had some fun, based on the humor included in the credits. Also, random question: Why can I not see the Collectibles and Souvenirs I've found until after the bonus chapter? That was an odd little detail.

All in all, I can't say I recommend this one unless 1) You have high frustration tolerance and 2) You don't mind spending five bucks on a less-than-five-star game.

Great plot, great graphics horribly executed mini games and HOGs. It doesn't tell you by color coding what objects need additional steps to be found or completed so its a mess. The mini games make absolutely NO sense and the instructions don't make sense to actually help you understand what is needed. Other than that, great game for $2.99 ,and its a long game as well.

Sorry Big Fish, I found this game to be kind of blah. I found myself asking "what is the point?" quite often, wandering aimlessly around and randomly clicking on items to see if there was something to do. There were goals, but they were very loose, and the actions that were available didn't seem to always fit logically with them. There was a LOT of back and forth from scene to scene, and I used the map a lot to find out where I was supposed to go next, because it just didn't make sense why certain items were placed in the scenes, very random. I'm finding it difficult to push through and finish, unlike some of Big Fish's other games like Enigmatis and Dark Parables, which I didn't want to put down.

I purchased this game on the day it was released and I have played it a lot. So far I have had no problems with the game and it has played well. I found the game to be OK but the story starts slowly. Some screens you can expand, zoom, to look for items and on others you can not. In addition I found some of the text on written notes hard to read and I could not see what the icons of some search items were on a Kindle Fire. This game might be better played on a larger tablet.

The game has three difficulty levels that you can set up and play. There is a good hint button and a button to hit so you can see where to look on each screen. The simple level is very helpful. There is also a fast travel map that shows you where you have actions to accomplish and where you are. Of course you have to move through the game and collect inventory items and tools to help you solve puzzles and progress through the levels. There are hidden object games or you can skip them and play a match 3 game.

The graphics are nicely done and the storyline is good but slow to develop. I finished the game and also the bonus game. I enjoy Big Fish Games and I rate this one as a 4 star game. I like the mystery story concept and for me they are entertaining.

5.0 out of 5 stars good game
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on February 27, 2016
I'm not very far into this game but so far it is running smoothly on the Kindle fire HD with no crashes. It looks good, has nice little puzzles and the hidden object scenes are not too frustrating plus you have the option to play a match three game instead. So, if the game continues to run as smoothly as it has it deserves five stars.

1.0 out of 5 stars Boring
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on February 27, 2016
I've got quite far but I have been playing waiting for the inevitable qliche. So far so good.
However this story is so boring I m playing on easy just to get through it.
There's little storyline the usual boring but little interaction with a person. You spend your time wandering around boring locations to find a boring part to put together just to get another boring part.
The HOS don't make any sense just a lot of stuff lying around your thinking why would they be here.
Annoying things as well such as get a rod for the fishing line in the exact location where it's needed there
are 3 of them but no you don't want those you have to go elsewhere. The storyline is all a bit silly not much depth and lots of annoying notes. I used to get so excited at the release of a big fish game. Now I'm just always disappointed. If your new to gaming there are much better games to do try five bn.
If your a long standing gamer buy this when your really desperate. I haven't finished it yet so if needed will up date this review.
