Electric car maker Tesla is hot — so hot, one Wall Street veteran thinks it might find a buyer next year.

Praxis Trading's Yra Harris said the company might be a good fit for one of Detroit's traditional Big 3 automakers, which have all made less-successful forays into electric cars thus far.

But Harris did not stop at Tesla—he also predicted that Goldman Sachs might go private again in 2014, just 15 years after the partnership went public for the first time.

If nothing else, Harris said, going private would ease some of the company's regulatory burdens.
