Vanessa Hayward was last seen on Friday night

The disappearance of a 25-year-old woman on a night out in Salford is causing "increasing concern", police have said.

Vanessa Hayward, from Salford, was last seen walking along New Bailey Street, near the city's central railway station around 21:00 GMT on Friday.

Greater Manchester Police believe she became separated from her friends.

A police spokesman said it was out of character for her not to contact friends or family for so long.

He added: "She was looking forward to moving into a new home with her friend this weekend."

Ms Hayward is white, around 5ft tall, of medium build and has brown shoulder-length hair.

She was wearing a black leather jacket, a blue and black chequered dress, black tights and black boots when she went missing.
