Theatre as a means to find 'stolen' grandchildren

Theatre 4 Identity started in 2000 in Argentina with the aim to help the Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo find their grandchildren, born when their disappeared mothers were kept in captivity during the military dictatorship that ruled the country between 1976 and 1983.

The group was brought to London for the first time in 2011 by Luis Gayol and his partners at the Calder Bookshop and Theatre.

It was also the first time these plays, all by Argentine authors, were staged in a language other than Spanish.
