An A-list affair! George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin were married on Saturday, Sept. 27, in a star-studded wedding and a source tells Us Weekly exclusively that it was a sight to behold.

The ceremony began at 8:00 p.m. at Venice's Aman Canal Grande Hotel in Italy. Under an arch of imported white roses, Clooney, 53, and his bride, 36, exchanged vows that they wrote themselves.

"Clooney held Amal's hand when saying part of his vows," the insider tells Us, adding that the wedding ceremony was quick, as Clooney and Alamuddin were pronounced husband and wife at 8:18 p.m.

Following the ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests dined on a five-course meal by Italian chef Riccardo De Pra and a team from Pisa, and canapés by Federico Salza. The dinner menu included lobster, risotto, sea bass, and beef, while canapés included prosciutto and figs. Attendees, who included Anna Wintour, Cindy Crawford, Matt Damon, and Emily Blunt, listened to music from a small string orchestra during dinner.

A jazz trio and a pianist also performed during the evening, pleasing yet another A-list guest, Bill Murray. "He loved the music and put his thumbs up when it started," the source tells Us.

When the music wasn't going, loved ones took the microphones to say a few words to the couple. Alamuddin's father Ramzi Alamuddin put the pressure on for the next step, telling his daughter and his new son-in-law, "Now it's time for grandchildren!" Messages were also read aloud from friends Dan Aykroyd and Sandra Bullock.

The stunning space at the hotel boasted huge chandeliers in each room, candelabras on each table, and candles and white roses "everywhere" throughout the event. Under 20 modern art paintings hand-picked by Alamuddin, tables were set with 24-karat gold-rimmed bone china.

After the festive evening, which had some guests partying until 5:00 in the morning and others crashing at the hotel, the newlyweds retired to the Aman's gorgeous Alcova Tiepolo suite.
