Bleary-eyed and accused of pestering women in a Charlottesville bar, this is Jesse 'LJ' Matthew, just over an hour before he began following missing UVA student Hannah Graham.

The prime suspect in the abduction of 18-year-old Hannah demanded to see an attractive African-American woman's toes and would not stop touching her, just moments after he had been introduced to her and her female friend by a mutual friend.

Dave Johnson, who has known 32-year-old for nine years, says Matthew was 'more aggressive than usual' on the night the student went missing.

And he suggested the UVA Hospital nursing assistant was 'trying to hit on' the freckle-faced 18-year-old, when he threw his arm around her - in new details of the night she disappeared that have been revealed in a blog by Charlottesville DJ and investigative author Coy Barefoot

One of the women, 'Molly' (not her real name) told Matthew 'don't f***ing touch me' when the 6'2" tall former American football player tried to touch her legs and knee.

Molly, pictured with her face obscured next to Matthew, was among a group of friends introduced to Matthew, by Mr Johnson at the Blue Light Grill in Charlottesville.

She said: 'He kept trying to put his hands on my legs and below the knee. He'd been way too aggressive all night, putting his arm around me, picking me up, putting his hands on my legs.'

She claimed that Matthew took her friend's socks off and asked to see her toes.

Molly told Barefoot: 'Then he came over to me and tried to touch my legs. I told him no. He said, "I just want to see your feet, like her."

'I told him no. Don't touch me, do not touch me. One time he reached above my knee, and the next time below my knee. I finally told him, don’t f***ing touch me.'

The photograph was taken at 12.05am just over an hour before video footage captured Matthew with Hannah Graham in the Downtown Mall at 1.20am.

The suspect, a former wrestling champion, threw another member of the group to the floor, held him in a lock and injured him, just minutes after walking into the bar, according to Barefoot's account.

'Right away LJ shot in on the guy with a wrestling move, took him to the ground there in Blue Light,' Mr Johnson said. 'He pulled his head down to his leg into a standing cradle. My friend heard a pop and felt his hamstring go.

Hannah Graham was reported missing on September 14, the day after she was caught on surveillance videos as she walked unaccompanied in Charlottesville's Downtown Mall

'It was an aggressive thing to do. It wasn't really provoked. LJ just kind of did it.'

Johnson added: 'He was a little more aggressive that night than usual. But he's been aggressive before. Sometimes he doesn't know when to stop. He’s a pretty tough guy. Wrestling-wise, you're not going to beat him.

But it's not something that you would ever extrapolate out and say that he’d have the propensity to rape or murder somebody.

It was then that he turned his attention to Molly and her friend.

'He immediately picked us both up and held us over his shoulders,' Molly recalled. 'I don't like that at all and told him to put me down. It was very strange. He put us down, and we sort of tried to move away from where he was. But he kept coming around, putting his arm around us and stuff like that.'

Molly said she quickly grew tired of Matthew and left the bar to shake him off, but he followed and continued to down shots of Bourbon.

She said: 'I just didn't like how he was grabbing my friend and I. But he followed us. But after we got to Tempo, he walked in the door right behind us.'

Custody: Jesse Leroy Matthew Jr., 32, was arrested on a charge of abduction with intent to defile Hannah

Facing justice: Matthew was caught in Galveston, Texas, in a tent on the beach. He is now being extradited back to Charlottesville, Virginia on a charge of abduction with intent to defile Hannah

After castigating him, Molly and her friend left the bar. Very soon after Matthew came into contact with Hannah and bought two drinks at the Tempo bar, with Hannah apparently waiting outside.

It was around 1.09am. Minutes later Matthew was captured following Hannah Graham along the Downtown Mall. He was then seen driving off and police believe that Hannah was with him.

Mr Johnson says Matthew did not know Hannah before that Friday night and was trying to pick her up.

He said: 'He never mentioned her. I don't think he knew her. In fact I'm fairly certain of it, because he walked up and threw his arm around her. That's what he did to women when he was hitting on them.

'If he threw his arm around a woman like that, that was not usually a sign that he knew her. That was a sign he didn't. If Hannah knew him, she wouldn't let him put his arm around her.'

Another witness, who gave her name as Abby, told Barefoot: 'When I saw her that night, I remember thinking, she's really drunk. She couldn't walk well.

'She was slouched into him, leaning against him, like she was having difficulty standing up. He was talking to her, and his right arm was around her, not over her shoulder, not at the waist, but around her back and holding her right arm. He was holding her close, like he was almost holding her up. They walked away together up the street towards the Mall.'

Barefoot said on his blog that all of the witnesses he spoke to have contacted the police and given their version of events that night to officers.

Tempo Restaurant owner Brice Cunningham said on Thursday that the UVA sophomore appeared to be incapacitated as she walked away from the nightspot with Matthew.

The revelations came as Matthew appeared before Galveston County Judge Mark Henry in Texas to be extradited to Virginia, charged with felony abduction with intent to defile.

Matthew was arrested at his tent on a Texas beach in Gilchrist on Wednesday at 3.30pm after a tip-off from a member of the public.

A sheriff's deputy caught him following a massive manhunt by the FBI and police forces across the U.S. and he was taken into custody without incident.

Matthew arrived back in Charlottesville this afternoon on a private aircraft from Houston, Texas.

The 32-year-old was led wearing handcuffs and leg shackles into the Downtown police station. He was later transferred to jail in a sealed van.

It is unclear why Matthew was in Texas although several reports have suggested that he may have been trying to flee to Mexico. Galveston is roughly a nine-hour drive from the Mexico border.

At a press conference on Thursday afternoon, Charlottesville Police Chief Tim Longo told reporters that his officers were re-interviewing witnesses, canvassing for more surveillance footage and searching properties.

The police department has had in the region of 1,600 tips but the chief could offer no more details on the whereabouts of Miss Graham.

Chief Longo said: 'The more time that goes by, the more difficult this becomes for everyone but we won't lose hope until we have to.'

Meanwhile, it was revealed today that just hours before Graham's disappearance, Matthew was at a football game. The 32-year-old was a part-time volunteer assistant football coach at a private school.

Video obtained by NBC29 shows the 32-year-old suspect on the football field on September 12 at the Covenant School - a Christian liberal arts and sciences school in Charlottesville.

MailOnline revealed on Thursday that Matthew was accused of rape when he studied at Liberty University.

Matthew was expelled in 2002 from the Christian university founded by Jerry Falwell in Lynchburg, Virginia, following the alleged sex attack on a female student but was not charged with any crime, former football team mates claimed. Matthew played defensive lineman.

Lynchburg City Police investigated the rape allegation and Matthew was named as a suspect, MailOnline has been told. But the student was not arrested or charged, due to lack of evidence.

However his football scholarship was withdrawn and he was thrown out of the university, his teammates told MailOnline.

According to police, Graham met friends at a restaurant for dinner on September 12 before stopping by two parties at off-campus housing units.

The sophomore, from northern Virginia, left the second party alone, police have said, and sent a text message to a friend saying she was lost.

Surveillance videos showed her walking, and at some points running, past a pub and a service station and then onto the Downtown Mall, a seven-block pedestrian strip lined with shops and restaurants where police believe she entered a bar with Matthew.

According to family members and police, Graham is an alpine skier and plays the alto saxophone. Organizers of a candlelight vigil last week at the university handed out her favorite candy, Starburst.

Police Chief Longo said he learned from visiting with Graham's parents that the graduate of West Potomac High School earned straight A's six years in a row.

The search for her continues, but Chief Longo said on Thursday that they have 'no idea' where she is at this point.

In a statement, the FBI said: 'The law enforcement agencies investigating this case would like to remind the public that Hannah is still missing; and it remains of significant importance that tips continue to be called into the tip line (434/295-3851) or emailed to the Charlottesville Police Department (CPDTips@charlottesville.org).'
