Bodies of mother and daughter found in Esher

The bodies of a woman and her daughter were discovered at their Surrey home, the day after a man believed to be the girl's father was found dead in France.

Lisa Anthony, 47, and her daughter, 14-year-old Ava Anthony, were found at their home in Simmons Gate at about 10:00 BST on Monday.

The man's body was found on Sunday in southern France. It is thought he died after the woman and girl in Esher.

Post-mortem examinations are due to be held later.

The bodies of Mrs and Miss Anthony were discovered after concerns were raised about the family, a Surrey Police spokesman said.

Simmons Gate is a gated community, in an area where properties are regularly valued at about £2m.

Det Ch Insp Mark Preston said: "We are in the very early stages of the investigation but we do not believe there to be any threat to the wider community.

"This is thought to be an isolated incident. We are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths."
