Man, 69, dies after street robbery in Lincoln

A 69-year-old man has died in hospital after he was robbed in the street.

The victim, who has not yet been named, was attacked and robbed of his wallet near Portland Street in Lincoln at 17:30 BST on Friday.

Lincolnshire Police said the man was approached from behind and pushed to the ground by his attacker, who stole his wallet before running off.

The attacker is described as being of aged about 30, thin, about 5ft 6ins tall, wearing a dark jacket.

He was also thought to be wearing light-coloured tracksuit bottoms.

Post-mortem tests have been carried out on the victim, but further tests are needed to establish the exact cause of death, police said.

Witnesses to the incident are being urged to contact the force.
