何と、驚きのリリース。ベティ・デイビスの瞳がヒットする前の彼女の前作と前々作が２in１で登場。なぜか、本国ではなくオーストラリアからのリリース。本国ではカントリー歌手としての位置づけの彼女だが、これを聴くと当時からロックやポップの感覚も色濃くあったことが解ります。彼女のファンなら絶対に聴くべし。

I am thoroughly satisfied with all of the songs on these recordings, even though "Betty Davis Eyes" is not on either one.
I have the original records and these songs are part of my life history. There is no other voice like KIm Carnes. I never get tired
of singing along with almost every song.

Kim Carnes was born in Los Angeles and released her debut album in 1972.
St. Vincents Court was her fourth studio album and was released in 1979.
There was one single released from the album. It Hurts So Bad which was also written by Kim Carnes was released in February and reached number 56 on the Billboard chart. The album was produced by Kim Carnes and Dave Ellingson and Daniel Moore.

The second album here is Romance dance which was Kim's fifth studio album and was released in June 1980. Produced by George Tobin this album contained two hit singles both of which were covers of sixties hits.
The first single was More Love which was written by Smokey Robinson and had originally been a hit for him and the Miracles in 1967 when it reached number 23 on the Billboard chart.
Kim's version was released in May 1980 and reached number 10.
The second single was Cry Like A Baby which was released in October 1980. This song written by Dan Penn and Spooner Oldham had originally been a hit for the blue eyed soul group The Box Tops in 1968. Their version of the song had reached number 2 but Kim's cover was a number 44 hit.
This twofer was issued by Raven Records in 2003 and contains the two albums released by Kim before her massive breakthrough in 1981 with Bette Davis Eyes.

Excéllente idée de cette édition CD de deux vinyles où Kim Carnes était au top. Après, ce sera Bette Davies eyes, qui occultera ces deux albums majeurs, tous les titres sont bons, on croirait une compil et Kim Carnes fait prévaloir ces dons certains d'auteur compositeur et surtout d'interprète. Une des rares a excellé dans les tempos rapides et dans les ballades.
