Is Iota on an exchange ? Or coinmarketcap?

It is only on Yassin-DEX provided within slack (slack.iotatoken.com -> channel #trading).

I believe it will be on famous exchanges soon (maybe it's last time you see such low prices), because the light-wallet is extremely easy to use and will be stable-released soon.

I guess coinmarketcap follows immediately after, as happens with other coins.

It's been sitting around 11btc per TIota. The units are denoted by uBtc (micro) and GIota on Yassin-DEX. So around 1100 uBtc per GIota. I agree that this could be the last time we see it at this price. It's very under the radar at the moment in the bigger picture.

Yes this is normally the case when submitting the coin to coinmarketcap.

No, there is an OTC trading bot on slack but there is no "exchange" listing Iota. The current price reflects this.

The marketcap will be a lot less if all you guys do is sit around discussing the price. For the love of every subatomic particle in the universe; DO SOMETHING PRODUCTIVE

What you can do if you can not code is join #marketing on slack and help advertising the coin , especially to iot companies and developers via reddit twitter etc.

Sorry, I'm new here with a newbie question.

Downloadad the windows wallet 2.1.0, then "Switch to Light Node". After that I have to choose the host.

I did this several times with several hosts:
- http://eugene.iota.community:14265

All to no avail. What I see is a blank green screen, shortly afterwards followed by "Could not load light wallet functionality."

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance!

not to be negative, but it kinda sucks if byteball will come first to big exchange, then when IOTA will come, they will be like, "Yay, first clone!?"

the iota devs have set in stone a list of pre-requisites before allowing iota into the exchanges. that is a very sensible and reasonable decision of them, reflecting the true goal of the iota project: the long term real world usage, instead of short term speculation.
as soon as the devs are satisfied, the exchanges will be authorised to offer iota trades, now as a perfected technology (there are great exchanges participating on iota slack already, don't forget this fact).
meanwhile, there's slack for the pre-exchange trades.

Part of me will also be sad, but it is just stupid pride. The record states clearly that IOTA was the first DAG.

Byteball is not even a competitor, they are doing something completely different (far less scope; many more limitations).

I suspect we will not have to wait much longer for exchanges and the exposure that brings to the project.

Really not a fan of Byteball's distribution model. Most of the coins are in the hands of people who already own a lot of BTC. Everyone complained about how small IOTA ico was, but it looks much more fair than Byteball's.

Could be good to put some info for newcomers like me about total number of coins and its current distribution; also about the slack mentioned as it´s the only way to aquire them. Read the whitepaper quickly and didn´t see it mentioned either. Is there a wallet to store the tokens?

Total number of tokens are ~ 2,779 Ti just take a look at the image below:

Here is the latest GUI wallet with light wallet capability
https://github.com/iotaledger/wallet/releases

If you want to manually add nodes, and not go the light wallet route, you will need to join slack and go to #nodesharing
Really is not that difficult.  Just PM people in that channel and ask to swap nodes as it needs to be a mutual exchange.

If you want to manually add nodes, and not go the light wallet route, you will need to join slack and go to #nodesharing
Really is not that difficult.  Just PM people in that channel and ask to swap nodes as it needs to be a mutual exchange.

Thank you! Could you please share the slack address? Also, is the supply expected to grow or decrease in any way? Oh and i think posting this info in first page could be good.

Here is the slack address, supply is fixed.
