Cannabis and cars seized by police in Magherafelt

Suspected cannabis thought to be worth £40,000 has been seized in County Londonderry, police have said.

The discovery was made during a police operation on the Castledawson Road in Magherafelt at 20:00 GMT on Friday. Two cars and three mobile phones were also seized.

In further searches in Magherafelt and Cookstown, cash, documents, a phone and drug paraphernalia were taken away.

Two men are due to appear in court on 25 March charged with several offences.

The men, aged 43 and 39, are both charged with having a class B drug and with intent to supply.

The 39-year-old is also charged with concealing criminal property and having an offensive weapon in a public place.
