Digitally remastered two CD release containing a pair of albums (plus bonus tracks) from the Soul/R&B vocalist: Reaching Out for the Sky and Crosswinds, both released in 1978. Peabo's self-produced Capitol debut, Reaching for the Sky (with arrangements and co-production by renowned Chicago musician Richard Evans), went gold in the US, thanks to the title track's success as a single and significant airplay for the song, "Feel the Fire" which became a staple in his repertoire. The follow-up album, Crosswinds, boasted two hit singles in the form of "She's a Woman" and the now-classic "I'm So Into You," which became his highest charting R&B hit until the late '80s. The LP, produced by Peabo with Johnny Pate (best known for his work with the legendary Impressions) also achieved gold status and featured again, Peabo's own compositions.
Great composer/songwriter/lyricist and most importantly smooth, stunningly intense vocalist. Peabo Bryson is at his best when he sings soulful ballads but also equally capable of delivering top performances on up tempo tracks. Just can't help but feeling a certain kind of way while listening to this 2CD reissue of 1977/1978 original vinyl album releases. Good feelings and bittersweet feelings of love with its ups and downs begin to surface of love found and love lost. The production, arrangements, background vocals, studio musicians, and sound mastering are exceptionally good.
I remember this music growing up my mother would play his albums all the time and I just adored his voice . The range is incredible that he sings a song, the music the soul is there. I was so happy to get this cd and I have not stopped listening to it..These 2 cd's are awesome.
