Drake Debuts at No. 1 with 535,000

  /  02.18.2015

If you’re reading this, Drake is No. 1. The rapper’s surprise mixtape reigns atop the Billboard 200 after only three days of sales.

If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, which went to digital retailers on Thursday night (Feb. 12), moved 535,000 units, according to Billboard. Of that number, 495,000 were from digital downloads alone.

IYRTITL marks Drake’s fourth chart-topper following 2010’s Thank Me Later (447,000), 2011’s Take Care (631,000), and 2013’s Nothing Was the Same (658,000).

Drake also earns the second-largest sales week among all albums in the past year, behind only Taylor Swift’s 1989 (1.287 million).

The surprise project has already sold more copies than any other album in 2015 except for Swift’s 1989.

Drizzy also sets a Spotify record for most streams from an album in its opening week in the U.S. The 17 tracks featuring Lil Wayne, PARTYNEXTDOOR, and Travi$ Scott were streamed more than 17.3 million times in three days.

Trailing behind Drake is the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack. The compilation, which features Beyoncé, The Weeknd, and Ellie Goulding, bows at No. 2 with 258,000. Fresh off his four Grammy wins, Sam Smith’s debut In the Lonely Hour rises 4-3 with 164,000.
