"Einzelhaft" is one of my favorite albums (CD) of all time! It still sounds as incredible now as it did back in 1983 when I first bought it on cassette (which I still have, by the way!). I originally bought it because of "Der Kommissar", but the CD as a whole is just incredible. I understand some German, having studied it in high school and college, so I pretty much know what each song is about (and what the titles of the songs mean) even though I don't understand every single word. But hey, knowing German isn't necessary to enjoy the incredible songs on this CD. It is truly a masterpiece that stands the test of time. I bought this 25th Anniversary Edition even though I already have the original CD release from GIG records. There are 2 CD's in this release and they look like mini-vinyl records. Very cool and unique! The sound quality is excellent, too. These CD's are not contained in a traditional jewel case, however. Instead, it is a cardboard case. Also, there is an insert with text about the CD and other things (in German of course) and the lyrics are also included (except for Ganz Wien, I believe, but I can't remember at the moment). The 1st CD contains the original release of Einzelhaft, while the 2nd CD is a bonus CD containing an anniversary remix of "Nie Mehr Schule" and "That Scene", which is an English version of "Ganz Wien". The remix of "Nie Mehr Schule" is actually pretty good, but I didn't care much for "That Scene". I much prefer "Ganz Wien" as sung in German. I don't think it's ever a good idea to try to remake a song in English, as the meaning gets lost in translation. Besides, I much prefer to hear Falco sing in his native language. He sounds so much more authentic and it's what set him apart from everyone else. The rest of the bonus CD contains interviews of Falco, in German of course. I love hearing him talk, even though I barely understand a word he's saying! If you are discovering Falco for the first time or just know him because of "Rock Me Amadeus", you definitely need to get "Einzelhaft". It's sad that he is no longer with us, but he left us with a brilliant CD and you need to get it while you can if you haven't already. R.I.P., Falco. You are definitely missed.
