Leigh-on-Sea crash: Vigil held for Reigan Knight and Liam Phillips

Hundreds of people attended a candlelit beach vigil for two teenagers who died when their car crashed as it was being followed by police in Southend.

Reigan Knight and Liam Phillips, both 17, were killed when the Ford Escort they were passengers in crashed in Southsea Avenue.

About 300 people took part in the vigil, in Leigh-on-Sea, with many launching sky lanterns in the boys' memory.

A 16-year-old, from Great Wakering, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving. His next court appearance is at Basildon Youth Court on 10 January.
