TOWIE's Mario Falcone has tweeted his disappointment after a stay at the newly-opened five-star Hotel Gotham left him less than impressed.

The reality TV star was visiting the city with his girlfriend Emma McVey, and the couple also enjoyed dinner at footballer Rio Ferdinand's Rosso Restaurant.

The pair then partied at Club Liv at the popular venue's All White Party, before bedding down for the night at the boutique hotel.

But things mustn't have lived up to the 27-year-old's expected standards, when he wrote on Twitter: 'Very disappointed with my stay @HotelGotham last night. One of the worst hotels I have stayed in.'

The negative message obviously struck a cord with the Boutique Hotels-owned venue, when less than an hour later they responded with: 'Could you DM [direct message] us as our Managing Director would like to address your comment..many thanks.'

Falcone, who is currently starring in the 14th series of The Only Way Is Essex, had earlier tweeted his delight after enjoying a meal at Rosso Restaurant when he wrote: 'Just had a lovely dinner at my favourite restaurant in Manchester @RossoRestaurant with @Emma_mcvey_.'

The Inner Sanctum Suite at the Manchester hotel is priced from £375 a night, while a standard room usually retails at £245 a night.

Jeff Ward, managing director of the Gotham Hotel, told MailOnline Travel: 'We are sorry to hear Mr Falcone did not enjoy his stay, we had no complaints from him at the time.

'We have asked him to contact us so we can discuss his comments but have not heard from him.'

On the hotel website, it reads: 'Everything at Hotel Gotham, from the magnificent architecture to timeless décor, is designed to take the breath away.
