Diplomats continued talks in Vienna to resolve the Syrian crisis on Saturday morning despite the attacks in Paris that killed at least 128 people on Friday evening.
France’s Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius led the first session of talks, according to the New York Times. AFP later reported him as saying that it was “more necessary than ever” to coordinate the fight against terrorism.
“I wanted to express my condolences to the government and the people of France for the heinous terrorist attack that took place yesterday, which is in violation and contravention of all ethics and morals and religions,” Adel al-Jubeir, the Saudi foreign minister, told reporters as he entered the Vienna hotel to attend the meetings, the Times says.
Other world leaders have also condemned the attacks.
According to some reports, one of the attackers at the Bataclan concert hall shouted “This is for Syria!” as he burst into the venue, where as many as 100 people were killed.
