Man dies after being hit by car on M8 in West Lothian

A 37-year-old man has died after being struck by a car on the M8 between Livingston and Bathgate.

Emergency services were called to the accident at about 20:30 on Friday.

It happened on the westbound carriageway between junction 3 Livingston and junction 3A Bathgate.

The road was closed for about six hours. Police have appealed for witnesses.
