- Camel gallops between two lanes of busy traffic on road in Abu Dhabi
- Man runs bare-footed and losses ground on the fast-moving camel
- British family laugh while filming the incident from their car window
One of the perks of being abroad is the chance to see native wildlife in its natural habitat.
A British family in Abu Dhabi enjoyed slightly more than that however, when they filmed a man chasing after a camel on a busy motorway.
The 35-second clip was captured by teaching assistant Ellie long, who uploaded footage to her Facebook page.
The bare-footed man appears to be losing ground on the camel, which quickly gallops away
The camel gallops down the middle of two lanes of traffic while being chased on Shahama Road
Recorded on Shahama Road, the clip shows a man a short distance behind a camel, which runs in the middle of two lanes of traffic.
The bare-footed man sprints alongside passing cars but despite his best efforts appears to be falling behind in his pursuit of the animal.
In the clip Ellie can be heard giggling and commentating on the event as it takes place.
She says: ‘Camel running down the motorway,’ while laughing, before talking to a young boy in the back seat.
The youngster in the back of the car looks entirely confused by what he has just seen
She asks, ‘Oscar, did you see the camel?’, only for the youngster to stare back at her entirely bemused by what he has just seen.
The video concludes with the frightened animal picking up the pace and extending the gap between itself and its pursuer.
It is unclear whether the man managed to catch up with and bring the camel to a halt or whether the animal got away.
