Children 'failed' over obesity, doctors leaders warn

Children are being "condemned to a lifetime of ill-health", warns the Royal College of GPs.

In a letter to the Chief Medical Officer for England, doctors' leaders say a generation of children is being destroyed by junk food and a lack of exercise.

They warn this could be the first generation of children who will die before their parents, and are calling for an emergency government taskforce to be set up to monitor childhood obesity.
