Dave East's new video kicks off with a stereotypical image of a music festival-goer, a young girl wearing floral patterns and frolicking around in a carefree manner, then cuts abruptly to East and his friends in the trap. This perfectly illustrates his lyric "I'm stuck in the trap, no Coachella for me," and drops us right into his "No Coachella For Me" video.
The song, which dropped right around the time the April festival was going down, speaks to the larger issue of summer festivals being largely unaffordable, and thus only attended by rich kids. Speaking stark realities, East gives us a window into the struggle.
