Bowlers Adil Rashid and Mark Wood have been added to England's squad to play Ireland in a one-day match and will return home early from the West Indies.

Both Rashid, 27, of Yorkshire, and Wood, 25, of Durham, were in England's Test squad but have returned from the Caribbean without playing in a Test.

They are part of a 13-man squad to face Ireland in Dublin on Friday, 8 May.

Yorkshire had appealed to selectors to release Rashid for county duty after the spinner failed to win a Test place.

He is one of six White Rose county players picked for the tour, with only Joe Root and Gary Ballance making it into the team.

Adam Lyth and Liam Plunkett remain in the Caribbean while wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow will make a scheduled return with Rashid to join him in the ODI squad, which also includes fellow Yorkshireman Tim Bresnan.

James Taylor will captain England for the first time as regular captain Eoin Morgan is playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League.

England ODI squad in full: James Taylor (c) (Nottinghamshire), Zafar Ansari (Surrey), Jonny Bairstow (wk) (Yorkshire), Sam Billings (Kent), Tim Bresnan (Yorkshire), Steven Finn (Middlesex), Lewis Gregory (Somerset), Alex Hales (Nottinghamshire), Adil Rashid (Yorkshire), Jason Roy (Surrey), James Vince (Hampshire), David Willey (Northamptonshire), Mark Wood (Durham).
