St Bede's abuse victim: 'Nothing can make up for what happened to me at school'

Dozens of Britain's leading private schools are facing a sharp rise in legal claims for historical sex abuse allegations dating back decades.

Now one legal firm says the schools should pay American-style financial damages running into hundreds of thousands or possibly millions of pounds to compensate victims whose lives have been ruined by abuse.

Rick Merrin was abused as a boy when at St Bede's College in Manchester, he says nothing could make up for happened to him and the impact it has had on his life.
