A man has been stabbed to death on a university campus in north-west London.
Police were called to Middlesex University, Greyhound Hill, Hendon, at 01:10 GMT, following reports of a fight.
Officers found a 22-year-old man with serious injuries, who was taken by ambulance to a west London hospital.
The victim, not believed to be a student, died a short time later. His family has been informed. No arrests have been made.
Police are awaiting formal identification and a post-mortem examination is due to be carried out, Scotland Yard said.
A Middlesex University spokeswoman said: "Fortunately, incidents such as these are rare at our university.
"However, Middlesex University takes a very serious line to violence on campus and any students found to be involved will be removed immediately."
Det Ch Insp Nicola Wall said: "We are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident on the university campus near the student union area shortly after 01:00 GMT today.
"There was a student event ongoing before this fight took place and many people would have been passing through the area before and after the fatal stabbing."
