If you're only familiar with Tiara Thomas' musical talents because of her work on "Bad" with Wale, here's a little more for you to chew on.

Before she releases her debut album, Tiara is giving fans a taste of her musical range on a 5-track project called Up In Smoke, and MTV News has the premiere of her latest song "How It Is."

"'How It Is' was a conversation with myself in my head," Tiara told MTV News of the thoughtful, acoustic track. "Talking about things that people go through in everyday life. Just dealing with people. Dealing with how things are."

And you can expect to hear the range of her artistry on the full project.

"Up In Smoke is a collection of music that shows different aspects of me," she explained. "The songs represent the different things that I feel and a lot of people feel. Sometimes I feel sad and lonely, sometimes I feel sexy and open...sometimes I'm high."

"I wanted to put out music that shows all sides of me, to show people that I'm not just a one dimensional artist that sits around playing guitar."
