PRC says no to permit for ride sharing service Uber
The New Mexico Public Regulation Commission denied Uber a temporary operating permit in a narrow 3-2 vote.According to our media partners at the Albuquerque Journal, Uber was also seeking a waiver on some of the required filings, which included driver safety records and insurance information.Uber, a ride-sharing service in Albuquerque, has been seeking a temporary permit since May.The other major ride-sharing service in Albuquerque, Lyft, has argued it's not a taxi service and doesn't fall under the authority of the PRC.The PRC also voted unanimously to begin new rulemaking for ride-sharing services like Lyft and Uber, the Journal reported.
